WW1 reenactor, new to AB - Firearms at events query?

Hi there,  I've been reenacting in UK and I've emigrated to Calgary. I'd like to connect with any WW1 reenactors in the Province.
Specifically, I have my PAL and an SMLE No3 Lee Enfield. Can anyone from the groups with Firearms tell me what the requirements are for public events with an unloaded firearm as a prop? I assume its to travel with firearm as per PAL requirements, but what about attending events?  Do I need to notify local Police?

Hey Will,

This board is pretty inactive. I’m the mod of this board and haven’t been on in over 5(?) years lol. Your best bet is to hit up FB where the Alberta Reenacting scene is a bit more lively. There is a group called the 10th battalion in Calgary that focuses specifically on WW1 and they would be more than happy to chat with you. If you’re interested in WW2, then the FSSF Living History association is the main group for that.
